Cattle Market Comments: Light test on calves and feeders; cows steady, bulls, $4 to $5 lower; 1,730 head sold. Cream of the Crop Sale Sept. 3. Steers: 300-400 lbs, 245 to 265; 400-500 lbs, 240 to 260; 500-600 lbs, 230 to 250; 600-700 lbs., 200 to 230; 700-800 lbs., 200-215; 800-900 lbs., 195 to 210; 900-1,000 lbs. and up, 120 to 150. Heifers: 300-400 lbs, 130 to 259; 400-500 lbs., 220 to 235; 500-600 lbs., 210 to 225; 600-700 lbs., 200 to 220; 700-800 lbs., 190 to 210; 800-900 lbs., 180 to 200 lbs., 1,000 lbs., and up, 124 to 131. Cows: utility, 110 to 123; breaking cows, 100 to 110; canners and cutters, 90 to 100; young feeder,s 110 to 130. Bulls: 120 to 145. Baby calves, 300 to 550 per head. Stock cows, 1,300 to 1,700 per head. Stock cows w/calves, 1,700 to 1,900 per head. Hogs Market: Steady. Barrows & Gilts: No. 1 and 2, 80 to 96; No. 3, 65 to 75. Butcher Hogs: light, 80 to 96. Sows: 400-600 lbs., 25 to 34. Boars, 6 to 50. Feeder Pigs, 75 to 95. Weaner Pigs, 32 to 60. Sheep Market: $5 to $15 higher. Excellent demand with good buyer attendance. Choice Slaughter Lambs, 140 to 150. Feeder Lambs: 65-90 lbs., 171 to 191. Cull Ewes: 20 to 55.
