KENDRICK — Grangeville topped Clearwater Valley in four sets last Monday night, Sept. 8, and followed up with a five-set win over tri-match host Kendrick.
Against CV, Hailey Sullivan delivered three aces along with 23-for-23 serving, as well as 11 kills and 18 digs.
Addie Lutz averaged nearly 10 assists per game and Madison Brown averaged more than three kills per game during Grangeville’s victory (25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-21). Maicee Conner added two kills per game and totaled 21 digs in the back row.
Against Kendrick, Sullivan, Brown and Conner again played well in the back row. Sullivan booked four kills along with 20 digs, while Brown and Conner tallied eight kills apiece.
Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs played “pretty well” at the Sept. 6 McCall Tournament, coach Kelcey Edwards said last Tuesday. “Last night we showed even more improvement so I am very pleased and proud of how the girls are playing.”
Up next, Grangeville is scheduled to play at Kamiah on Sept. 11 and to host its home tournament starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the GHS gym.
Summit wins Genesee JV tournament
GENESEE — Summit’s varsity, behind Megan Seubert, Ally Sonnen, Lauren Stubbers and Rachel Waters, won the Genesee JV Tournament last Saturday, Sept. 6, defeating the Lewiston JV (25-14, 25-17) in the finale.
The Patriots also topped Troy, Genesee and Prairie JV teams.
