Bomb hoax scare at Syringa Hospital

Investigation under way; no motive, suspect as yet

— Investigation is ongoing into Thursday’s bomb threat hoax at Syringa Hospital with no leads at present regarding a suspect or a reason.

“At this point, we don’t have any motive for it,” said Grangeville Police Chief Morgan Drew. “The caller did not make any statements to lead us to a motive.”

Syringa Hospital went into lockdown – no staff, patients or members of the public in or out – following a brief 6:02 a.m. call to staff Thursday, Sept. 25, by a person stating there was a bomb in the hospital.

Following an interior and exterior search, law enforcement found no explosive device.
