2A Baseball: GHS splits CIL chances at Orofino

OROFINO — The Bulldogs shelled the Maniacs in the first game of a road doubleheader last Thursday, April 16, but Orofino recovered from a 13-2 beating to mercy rule Grangeville 17-7.

GHS turned a close first game into a laugher with five runs in the fifth and six runs in the sixth on the strength of multi-hit showings by Austin Parks and Bear McEwen.

McEwen, Dylan Canaday and Ryan Adkinson all hit doubles during the opener, but Hayden Wilson had five hits during the second game.

Coming — Grangeville hosted Orofino after the print deadline April 21.

GHS hosts Central Idaho League foe St. Maries at 4 p.m. April 23, Moscow at 10 a.m. April 25, and CIL rival Kendrick at 3:30 p.m. April 28. GHS will host Clearwater Valley April 30.
