Summit Academy is trying something different this year for their play. They got permission from the publishing companies to perform shortened versions of three one-act comedies. They’re calling it “The Anatomy of Comedy,” a smorgasbord of hilarity presented in three separate one-act plays. There will be scenes from “Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit;” “The Pink Panther Strikes Again!;” and “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” (abridged). All three plays will be performed each night at Summit Academy Gym on Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m.; Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m.; Saturday matinee on May 2 at 4 p.m.; and Sunday, May 3, at 7 p.m. These kids always do an outstanding job under the direction of Kim Frei. Expect to be entertained!

Summit Academy kindergarten screening is set for April 28 and April 30; call the school for an appointment. Mrs. Rehder will test children to see if they are ready for kindergarten; she will need a half-hour appointment with each child. This can be done during the preschool class time or whenever is most convenient. Spread the word to any friends or family who may be interested in a quality Summit Academy education! Mark your calendars for May 13 for the kindergarten visit day, when the preschool students have a chance to join a kindergarten class for an afternoon.

There have been reports of a cougar sighting in the Greencreek area. Many barn cats have gone missing in certain areas. Be watchful when you are out and about.

Spring planting season is drawing to a close. Farmers in the Westlake area are busy now. Good weather this last week was a big help.
