ITD open house set Aug. 12 on multi-million dollar Grangeville projects

— The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is hosting an open house next week to provide information on two construction projects currently scheduled for the summer of 2016.

The event is Wednesday, Aug. 12, 3 to 6 p.m., Grangeville City Council Chambers, 225 W. North Street.

Information will be available on two construction projects in the Grangeville area, totaling approximately $3 million.

Main Street, Grangeville (State Highway 13):

This project proposes to upgrade the ADA ramps at 11 locations, complete minor drainage improvements, upgrade the signal and repave Main Street. The paving work is proposed to take place after Border Days and during the night time hours, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Detour routes are proposed on streets within the city limits of Grangeville and on the Grangeville Truck Route.

Work is estimated to take approximately one month.

U.S. 95 from West South First to the Northern Johnston Road intersection with U.S. 95:

This project proposes to rehabilitate U.S. 95 by pulverizing the existing pavement and placing a thick asphaltic concrete overlay. The paving work is proposed to be after Border Days during the daytime. An optional detour route is proposed on Johnston Road.

Work is estimated to take approximately two months.

ITD plans to advertise the project bids as early as fall.
