GRANGEVILLE — Idaho Department of Fish and Game officers are on the case of the slaying of two deer on Poor Farm Road east of town.
The head was taken from a large whitetail buck where a second deer was also shot and left on or about Aug. 10.
“There’s been a rash of these in the region and a reward is being offered for information,” IDFG senior conservation officer George Fischer said. “We recovered evidence from the scene and we have no doubt it’s a local person. This isn’t some drive-by tourist. It’s someone who might be bragging a rack around. It’s a whopper. A lot of people saw this deer alive. And if there’s anybody running around with a deer head this time of year, we’d love to know about it.”

Annually CAP receives 600 calls, which result in 150 citations issued and $20,000 paid in rewards.
