Something to gain on public lands transfer?

Letter: Dick Artley, Grangeville

On March 6, 2015, Idaho County Commissioner Jim Chmelik created a new corporation, the Western Landmark Foundation, dedicated to transferring federal public lands to the state of Idaho.

You might want to ask Mr. Chmelik if he has something to gain, personally, from the proposed land transfer. You might also want to seek reassurance that none of your tax dollars are involved in this venture, as he and the commissioners have already donated $15,000 to the American Lands Council that advocates privatization of public lands. His company’s head office is at 227 St. Michaels Road, Cottonwood, ID 83522. If you wish to speak with Commissioner Chmelik, he can be reached at 983-2751.
