One For The Books

In October 2014, the Free Press reported on a big bear a local woman tagged in that fall’s hunt. Last Wednesday, Nov. 25, Renee Duman of Cottonwood said she “finally got this bad boy officially scored and recorded.”

It’s not yet listed on Idaho Fish and Game’s website, but she said it wound up measuring 21 5/16 inches.

She said it shrunk “a tad” but that it still ranks No. 5 or No. 6 among Boone and Crockett black bears and “best part,” she’s the “only girl listed on the top ten.”

Pictured is the mount she had done by Larry Hatter of Special Effects Taxidermy.

“I need a bigger living room,” she added.
“He's freaking huge.”
