Road accessing Service Flats to be closed

The Maggie Creek Supervisory Area of the Idaho Department of Lands in Craigmont will be closing the road accessing the Service Flats block of state land Thursday, Dec. 17. This closure will remain in effect through May 2016. The road may be opened sooner depending on environmental conditions.

This is an annual closure designed to reduce soil erosion and sedimentation, minimize road damage and maintenance expenses, and protect wildlife wintering in the area. Restrictions pertain only to unauthorized vehicles wider than 50 inches. Access by ATV, motorcycle, or any non-motorized means is permitted. The roads may also be used for purposes of authorized resource management of accessed by parties with authorized permits.

Public transportation advisory group seeks North Central Idaho representative

The Public Transportation Advisory Committee (PTAC) is seeking a representative for District 2 in North Central Idaho to serve on its advisory council. The individual selected will represent Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce counties.

PTAC was created to advise the transportation department on issues related to public transportation in Idaho. It is composed of six members, one representing each of ITD’s administrative districts.
