Let’s Talk About it starts Jan. 19 at Grangeville Centennial Library

GRANGEVILLE — The Let’s Talk About It book club series will start Jan. 19 at Grangeville Centennial Library. Books are currently available for pickup.

Dates of books are: Jan 19 - Hope: A Tragedy by Shalom Auslander; Feb 9 - Where’d You Go, Bernadette? By Maria Semple; March 1 - The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde; March 22 - Messages From My Father by Calvin Trillin; and April 22 - Pudd’nhead Wilson by Mark Twain.

Emmanuel Baptist Church sets Christmas Eve service

COTTONWOOD — Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cottonwood will be having a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service Thursday, Dec. 24, 6 p.m., featuring a Christmas cantata performed by the Whispering Pines Choir. Light refreshments to follow and all are welcome.

Masses to be held at Monastery of St. Gertrude Dec. 24, 25

COTTONWOOD — Christmas Eve Mass will be held at the Monastery of St. Gertrude Dec. 24, 7:30 p.m. (caroling begins at 7 p.m.) Christmas Day Mass is set for Dec. 25, 11:30 a.m.

WHITE BIRD — Pleasant View Baptist Church will host a Christmas Eve service, Dec. 24, 5 p.m.

Christmas concert will be Dec. 27

COTTONWOOD — The Monastery of St. Gertrude will host a Christmas concert featuring local musicians Sunday, Dec. 27, 2 p.m., in the Monastery chapel (no cost, freewill offering).

SPPS sets services

GRANGEVILLE — Sts. Peter and Paul Parish will have its Christmas Eve service Dec. 24, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel in White Bird; 4 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church (children’s Mass); 6:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Nezperce; and 10 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Grangeville (no midnight Mass this year). Christmas Day Mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Dec. 25, 9 a.m.

Methodist service is Dec. 24

GRANGEVILLE — United Methodist Church will host a Christmas Eve service Thursday, Dec. 24, 7 p.m., Special music by the choir will be shared.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for Jan. 6

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, Jan. 6, noon. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 926-7776.

GRANGEVILLE — Trinity Lutheran Church will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service Wednesday, Dec. 24, 7 p.m., and a Christmas Day service Thursday, Dec. 25, 9:30 a.m. (with Holy Communion).

Riggins church service is Dec. 24

RIGGINS — Riggins Assembly of God Christmas Eve Service will be held Thursday, Dec. 24, 6-7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

GRANGEVILLE — Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 311 South Hall, will host a Christmas Eve service Dec. 24, 7 p.m., and Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 10 a.m.

New Year’s Eve party scheduled for Christian Reformed Church

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville Christian Reformed Church will have a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31, 6 p.m. The community is invited for a night of games, movies and food.

American Red Cross blood drive to be Jan. 7 in Grangeville

GRANGEVILLE — The next American Red Cross blood drive will be held Thursday, Jan. 7 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Grangeville Armory. Appointments can be made by calling Dana Groom at 983-8571. Walk-ins are welcome after 2 p.m.

Walking club to meet Sundays thru Thursdays

GRANGEVILLE — The Camas Prairie Walking Club will meet each Sunday through Thursday, 3:45- 4:45 p.m., at Heritage Square.

This month’s walk theme is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness in honor of Grangeville High School graduate Katie Hauger.
