Aladdin performance set for this Friday

Kooskia program to be Feb. 21

KOOSKIA — Join Aladdin Saturday, Feb. 21, 5:30 p.m., at the Clearwater Valley Elementary School as he ventures into a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales ranging from Ali Baba to Scheherazade to Sinbad the Sailor.

Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 50 Clearwater Valley students will perform an original musical adaptation of Aladdin.

This original musical production is part of the MCT’s international touring project and is presented locally by Kooskia’s CVSS PTSA and the community calendar sponsors.

Donations to see the show will be accepted at the door. These funds will be crucial to bring back MCT in the future. Concessions and memorabilia will also be for sale.

GRANGEVILLE — Join Aladdin as he ventures into a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales from Ali Baba to Scheherazade and even Sinbad the Sailor when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 60 local students perform an original musical adaptation of Aladdin.

Aladdin will be presented at 7 p.m. at the Grangeville Elementary Middle School Multi-Purpose Room. Tickets are $10 for immediate families, $5 for adults and $3 for children and are available at the door.

The local cast features Kane Kennedy as Aladdin and Debbie Webb as his mother. Talia Brown as the Princess Dory and Dalton Dennis as her father the Sultan along with his adviser the Grand Vizier played by Rachael Stevens. Mindy Fredrickson, Victoria Williams are the keepers of the Book of Answers, Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade. Emilio Barela as The Mysterious One and Nicole Marsh, Zoe Lutz, and Taryn Godfrey as the mischievous Genies. A stubborn Donkey and spunky Goat are played by Matthew Nelson and Tate Johnson. Scheming Cassim and Ali Baba are played by Aiden Acton and Brandon Vetter. Sinbad, Mickey Nelson and his Sailors are Bella Dame, Laura Fischer, Kaelyn Blackwell, Amanda Halligan, Morgan Click, Trenton Haney, Nathan Reuter, and Camden Crowl. Wisecracking Palm Trees are played by Jillian Hausladen and Bella Klapprich with Anneliese Bearden, Elli Klapprich and Emmy Told as fleet footed Camels. The Cave of Wonders are played by Demi Klapprich, Emma Roach, Eliana Edwards, Nicole Spets and Natalie Long. Vagabonds are played by Jace Bowman, Bryson Robinett, Madison Fredrickson, Tabitha Stoner, Adelaide Crowl, Zak Roach, Sydnee Long, Gabby Nelson, Nichole White, Ariel Halligan and a pack of lost Penguins are played by Makenna Elliott, Hallie Crowl, Ksenya Barela, Makenna York, Elizabeth Tow, William Told, Ruby Young, Sage White, Katelyn Bearden, Halle Told, Dylan Miller, Carter Blackwell, Caryss Barger, Mia Nelson, Ryan Newson, and Augustyne Warden. Serving as Assistant Directors will be Kara Sanders, Robert Newson, Kaylee Doughty and Amber Halligan.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Grangeville is brought to the community by Kids Klub with support from Idaho Forest Group, Don and Andrea Solberg, Dr. Matthew and Katie Told, Melisa Bryant and Upfront Construction. For information, call Kids Klub at 983-2285.
