Clearwater woman injured in Feb. 3 rollover

GRANGEVILLE – A Clearwater woman was injured following a rollover accident on Old Highway 7 last week north of Grangeville.

Linda Walter was transported to Syringa Hospital and then transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood. Patient status was unavailable.

The crash was reported last Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2:39 p.m., near the intersection with Jessup Road. According to Idaho State Police Trooper William Adams, Walter was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban northbound when she went into the corner, drifted off the road and off the edge. She corrected, bringing the vehicle back onto the road where it started to slide, she overcorrected and the Suburban went into a sideways slide. During this time, the wheels folded under, causing gouges in the roadway, and the Suburban flipped once, landing on its wheels facing west, perpendicular to the road.

Walter was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for failure to maintain lane of travel.

ISP was assisted on scene by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office. Dale’s Rescue Towing provided wrecker services.
