Kamiah teen injured in Feb. U.S. 12 crash

OROFINO – A Kamiah teen was injured in a single-vehicle crash last week at Orofino.

Christopher S. Pethtel, 17, was transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital (CVH) in Orofino; CVH does not release patient status information. He was wearing a seat belt.

The crash was reported last Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2:21 p.m., on U.S. Highway 12, milepost 49.7, according to Idaho State Police. Pethel was driving a 2000 Kia Spectra westbound when he crossed the center line, went into the eastbound lane and then left the roadway. The Spectra came to rest on its driver’s side just inside the Lewis County line. The eastbound lane was blocked for approximately 1.5 hours.

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office assisted ISP on the crash. Orofino Body handled wrecker services.
