COTTONWOOD — It has certainly been cold the last few days. Last week it was nice enough to work out in the yard. I even saw some tractors out in the field. The fertilizer companies were busy also.

We had fun with grandkids here all weekend. We also have six new baby calves. That makes a good time for me.

Greencreek Altar Society is planning a yard sale for April 18 in the Greencreek Hall. Anyone with items to donate can bring them to the hall on the day before. They would appreciate anything you wish to give for a good cause.

Lori Mader has been named as the White Pine League Division 1 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. Kayla Schumacher and Kristin Uhlenkott have both been named to the All-WPL Division I first team while Shayla Von Bargen has been named to the second team. Congratulations to all of you.

David Wassmuth won the spelling bee for Summit. He is the son of Eric and Alea Wassmuth and is an avid reader. He will be going to the Regional Spelling Bee in Lewiston in March. The winner there will get a free trip to Washington, D.C.

The Idaho County Historic Preservation Commission is conducting a public survey and would like to ask for your participation and input. Take a moment to complete the on-line survey at the link below and help guide the direction of historic preservation in Idaho County. We encourage you to pass this information to as many residents, property owners, and/or interested citizens as possible. The more responses we receive, the more thorough and accurate our findings will be as we develop the countywide preservation plan:
