KOOSKIA/KAMIAH — On Friday, Feb. 27, at the Kamiah Chamber Welcome Center, you will be able to attend a workshop on Sustainable Soils for More Production. The cost is $5 per person and pre-registrations is suggested. The program will be presented by Mike and Joan Mount of Green Things Nursery in Orofino. You will hear what works here, what are new and tried and true planting techniques. These people are very well-informed about what plants to use here, since we have such a wide variety of weather conditions even within the same community. Call University of Idaho Extension at the Lewiston Office at 799-3096 or e-mail them at nezperce@uidaho.edu.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon will present on Wednesday, March 4, the songs from the Broadway Musical Production of “The King and I” entitled “Getting to Know You.” In their first five months they have been meeting new neighbors and finding new friends, which is the primary goal of the center. Luncheons are served on the first and third Wednesdays at noon in the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome! What a nice addition to our area.
