State runs Feb. 27-28 at Pocatello: Wrestlers ace district tourney

WALLACE — The Clearwater Valley nine carried the 1A District I-II team title last Saturday, Feb. 21, in part on the strength of a strong finish by Tyler Morrow. Individually, one of the day’s best results belonged to Prairie’s Dally Ratcliff, who won the district title at 132 pounds.

Grangeville placed second in 2A team scoring, with Shaydn Wassmuth’s district title bumping him up to the state’s third seed at 195 pounds. Blake Courtney was unseeded in the district tournament and “surprised a couple of guys at 138 pounds,” GHS coach Tyler Bransford said.

CV’s state qualifiers are: Carson Morrow (138), Taylor Roy (160), Tyler Morrow (182), KC Summers (182), Sean Nelson (195), Trey Dominguez (220), and Dawson Fisher (285).

Kamiah’s are Zach Wilkins (152) and Ian Anderson (170).

Prairie’s are Ratcliff (132), Kellie Heitman (106) and Jace Perrin (160).
