Republicans to meet Jan. 20

GRANGEVILLE – Idaho County Republicans (North Central Republican Committee) will hold a meeting Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6 p.m., at Super 8 Motel’s conference/meeting room.

The group will discuss the upcoming Lincoln Day preparations. Everyone is welcome. For questions call 983-8484.

Whitman to speak at Spalding Jan. 17

LEWISTON — Nez Perce tribal chairman, Silas Whitman, will be the first speaker in a series of talks held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nez Perce National Historical Park. He will speak at the Spalding Visitor Center Saturday, Jan. 17, 1 p.m.

“50 Years as a National Park” will be a series of events held the third Saturday of every month in 2015 starting Jan. 17. The topics will focus on the partnerships of the park and other entities, past events, park collections, past employees and other related topics. All events will be free to the public.

The Spalding Visitor Center is located on US Highway 95, approximately 12 miles south of Lewiston and three miles north of Lapwai. Call the Nez Perce National Historical Park at 843-7009.
