Art show set for White Bird Days

WHITE BIRD — The Salmon River Art Guild show will take place during White Bird Days, Saturday, June 20, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the IOOF Hall in White Bird. This is free to the public. This member art show will include a silent auction, people’s choice awards and demonstrations.

Flower show set for June 11

KAMIAH — Valley Garden Club will present the standard flower show “You Light Up My Life,” Thursday, June 11. The event is set for the Lewis and Clark RV and Resort, 4243 Highway 12, from 1 to 5 p.m. This is open and free to the public.

AARP class set for June 13

GRANGEVILLE — An AARP Driver’s Safety Course is set for Saturday, June 13, at the Soltman Center at 9 a.m. For details call Earl Barnes at 983-0383.

Blood drive slated for Thursday

GRANGEVILLE — The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Thursday, June 11, noon to 6 p.m., at the Armory.

Tennis camp set for June 23-25

GRANGEVILLE — A three-day tennis camp to introduce and work on basic tennis skills is set for June 23-25, 1 to 3 p.m., at the Grangeville High School tennis courts. This is for next year’s sixth through 10th grades and cost is $20 with a T-shirt or $15 without. Make check to “GHS tennis camp.”

Wear shorts, T-shirt, athletic shoes and bring a water bottle and a tennis racket. Extra rackets are available for those who do not have one.

County Democrats picnic, auction on tap for June 28

WHITE BIRD — The Idaho County Democrats annual picnic and pie auction will be held at Grangeville’s Pioneer Park Sunday, June 28. Potential candidates will be in attendance at this off-election year event. Bring a dish to share, a pie for the auction and wear blue.

Kids can play free disc golf

GRANGEVILLE — Partners Inspiring Community Health Extreme Adventure Club is a free event for community youth between the ages of 8 and 18. A few discs are left for disc golf this Saturday, June 13, at Lions Park, 9 a.m., with leader Kevin Asker. E-mail for reservation and application or call Julie at 983-6098.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for June 17

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, June 17, noon. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible.

WB library to host Duck Derby

WHITE BIRD — During White Bird Days, the community library will sponsor the “Duck Derby” which is a raffle for many prizes. The top prize is a jet boat trip from Killgore Adventures. Tickets are on sale now and will also be available at White Bird Days June 20. The proceeds support the library in its continued efforts to provide the community with reading materials and 24/7 WiFi access. (Winners need not be present.) Tickets are $2, 3/$5, and a book for $20.

VBS set for Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD — It’s vacation Bible school time for Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cottonwood. Children age 4 years old through sixth grade are admitted free from June 22-26, 9 a.m. to noon. Grab your expedition gear and prepare for “Journey Off the Map!” For an added treat, join in on Saturday, June 20, noon to 1 p.m., for the bouncy house, along with hot dogs and light refreshments and an opportunity to preregister for VBS. Stites Baptist has new pastor

STITES – Ben Bannister is the new pastor for Stites Baptist Church. Services are Sundays at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Food Bank, with a donation meal is June 18 at 11 a.m. A free yard sale (no prices on items) is June 27. Vacation Bible school is set for July 27-31, 9a.m. to noon.
