ISP investigating US 12 crash that claimed life of Kamiah woman

Idaho State Police investigation is ongoing concerning a single-vehicle fatality accident along U.S. Highway 12 near Orofino.

Passenger Julie H. Wilson of Kamiah, died of her injuries at the scene. The driver, Joshua G. Wilson, 27, also of Kamiah, was transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital (CVH) in Orofino. Joshua was not wearing a seat belt; status for Julie is unknown.

The crash was reported at 7:53 a.m. on June 7, milepost 34, according to ISP. Joshua was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester westbound when he drifted off the right shoulder. He swerved to avoid hitting the guard rail, veered across the eastbound land and went off the left shoulder. He lost control of the Subaru, turned the vehicle horizontal, causing it to roll and stop on its top, during which Julie was ejected.

ISP was assisted on the crash by the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.
