COTTONWOOD Camas Prairie Young Adults: Are you looking to thrive in life and not just survive?!? Come to this kick-off event (and bring a friend) for the Camas Prairie Young Adults on June 13 at 7 p.m. in the Cottonwood Park. Bring a potluck dish to share (and yes, it can even be a bag of chips or store bought item) and enjoy meeting other adults or listening to music/games. The Camas Prairie Young Adults is a new group for young adults who are single, dating, or married to come to events and socialize with people who have common interests. Events that will occur throughout the years include some of the following: fishing and hiking, rafting or canoeing, trapshooting, Western swing, card nights and more. If you want to meet people one-on-one, or even find the best way to become the better version of yourself, come join our mini events, such as cooking with the 4 Love Languages, Date Nights and Personalities, and so on. For details e-mail Kimberly Frei at firstname.lastname@example.org . Thanks, and hope to see you all there.

The installation of Sister Mary Forman as Prioress of St. Gertrude Monastery will be held June 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at the Monastery. Pope Francis says the Year of Consecrated Life has three aims: to look to the past with gratitude, to live the present with passion, to embrace the future with hope. In the midst of these aims, the Monastery would like to honor 10 years of leadership from Prioress Sister Clarissa Goeckner and welcome Sister Mary Forman and wish her all the best as she takes over as Prioress.
Recent rains have the crops looking pretty good. Some have headed out already. Some people got hail in that big storm last week. Some funnel clouds were spotted but none of them touched down.
Vacation time is here for all the school kids. Yea! Lots of fun, sports, swimming, camping and maybe even some work just to keep them occupied.
