Golf fund-raiser coming up June 20

GRANGEVILLE – Grangeville Country Club is set to host the Austin Blackmer Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20. Teams of four or five cost $50 per person. No handicaps are required. To donate or for information, contact Dan Lustig, 507-2323.

Border Days local books open now

GRANGEVILLE — The 104th annual Grangeville Border Days Rodeo is set to run July 3-5, starting at 6 p.m. that Friday with 2 p.m. shows slated both days that weekend. Slack time events will go at 10 a.m. July 3.

The Border Days Committee has set $12,800 added money plus entry fees, with the pro books to open June 21. Enter online through or call 208-845-2051 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (MT).

Local team roping and local barrels competitors are to register with Brad Arnzen, 983-5784.

The Border Days Rodeo is sanctioned by Idaho Cowboys Association, Pro-West, and NPRA, with rodeo stock by Gold Buckle Rodeo, Roosevelt, Wash.

CVRA rodeo local entries open June 17

KAMIAH — The 52nd Clearwater Valley Roundup Association Rodeo is set to go at 5 p.m. June 27 and at 1 p.m. June 28, but to get in on the action, locals need to call 935-5821 to register starting June 17-24.

Local events include junior steer riding, junior barrel racing, team roping, breakaway roping, mutton busting and a kids calf scramble.

Winchester Rodeo to feature ranch bronc riding this July 4-5

The main event of the Winchester Rodeo, July 4-5, will be ranch bronc riding. This rodeo event is sanctioned by Western States Ranch Rodeo Association. The event features $2,000 added money.

Organizers anticipate close to 30 riders will compete in that event.

Entries are open in all events, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 924-6247.

Camas Prairie b-ball camp to run July 6-9

COTTONWOOD — The 2015 Camas Prairie Basketball Camp will be held July 6-9 at the Prairie school gyms. The camp, for incoming third- through ninth-graders will run 5-8 p.m. each day. Cost is $60.

Swim team’s home meet slated Aug. 15

GRANGEVILLE — The Grangeville swim team’s home meet is set for Aug. 15, with a trip to Kendrick July 31 and a trip to Nezperce Aug. 5.

Border Days royalty set to try out June 30

GRANGEVILLE — Border Days Rodeo royalty tryouts are set for 6:30 p.m. June 30 at the Border Days arena.

CVRA queen tryout scheduled June 26

KAMIAH — The Clearwater Valley Roundup Association (CVRA) will be having the 2016 rodeo queen tryouts during rodeo week, at 6 p.m. June 26 at the CVRA rodeo grounds on Hill Street. The 2016 Queen will be announced during the Sunday afternoon rodeo performance on June 28.
