Big Water Blowout on tap

RIGGINS — Get ready for the 17th annual Big Water Blow Out Festival Saturday, June 6, featuring lots of activities including discounted whitewater rafting trips from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get to the Riggins City Park in time for the famous Dutch Oven Cookoff beginning at 5 p.m. to be ready for judges at 7 p.m., then ready to serve to all of us for $5 per plate. There will be live music from 7-10 p.m. with Buckskin Bible Revue entertaining for dancing and listening… and there will be a beer garden. RIGGINS — Paula Tucker’s Summer Sports Camps sponsored by ASK will be held at Salmon River High School. Basketball camp is June 8–11. Volleyball camp will be held June 15–17. Outdoor camp will be June 22–25. For information contact, ASK at 628-2770.

ASK students will once again be going to Silverwood for a day of fun, food and rides. Tickets will be available for all eligible participants…call ASK at 628-2770 for information on this super fun trip.

Salmon River Community Church is having its annual yard sale this weekend, Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, beginning at 9 a.m. each day. They will be serving their famous hamburgers and promise to have lots of great treasures!

School will be busy the rest of this week and next week, then dismissed for the summer beginning Thursday afternoon, June 4!

Salmon River Community Church is having its annual Senior Citizen auction and lasagna dinner along with the famous delicious dessert auction next Friday, June 5, 6 p.m. This dinner and fun evening is open to the public. If you have any items for the live or silent auction... new or slightly used… call Pastor Jim at 628-4043.

The annual Brushy Flat Reunion will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, beginning with a dinner Saturday at the Riggins Community Center at 5 p.m. (MDT). Plans for Sunday will be made at the dinner Saturday night.

VBS, Vacation Bible School, will be held at the Salmon River Community Church, June 29-July 3, with the fun famous Texas team once again leading the way. VBS week for kids 4 years - fifth grade will meet in the mornings… activities will be held in the evenings for the junior high and senior high teens, sixth grade and up. More details in June.

The Riggins sky will be lit up with fireworks once again on the 4th of July! Salmon River Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 4th of July fireworks in the Riggins City Park using the same company as was used in April at the jet boat races. Donations are needed to help fund this event! The Salmon River Chamber of Commerce will fund the first half of the cost, $1,500, and is asking for donations for the rest. Donation cans will be set up in the Riggins businesses for you to toss in your change… or you can send donations to Salmon River of Commerce, P.O. Box 289, Riggins, ID 83549. Families are encouraged to gather in the park for visiting and celebrating and be ready for the fireworks show at dusk. Bring your own snacks and lawn chairs and plan to have a sizzling good time.
