Weekend brings on camping season

Lowell, Syringa News

Marie Smith Lowell, Syringa 926-4430

LOWELL/SYRINGA — Like the high wire act that fell into the net, I’m going to pick myself up and get back on the wire.

The news from Lowell and Syringa will be reported, come hell or high water. We survived the fire last fall, we survived the week of five degrees that hit in November. I made it through some time under the knife, they took some stuff out, but left my sense of humor! At least on the left side! So now comes normal upriver news!

Memorial Day weekend hit the mighty Lochsa and we were ready, madness at Lochsa Falls, lots of USFS campers, old customers and friends everywhere. Oregon Whitewater Association, Gabe Scheib and Gabe Jr, and Natalie, Beth Peterson, Rick Harris and family, Scott Pearson, Jim Engledow and his son, Jack, Steve Weeks, Tonya and Nate Sparks, and their daughters, Destiny and Quincy. Rachael Lewis and friends, not Lewis anymore but used to be Lewis! All came up to enjoy the beginning of summer!

Last week a fine and faithful group of Gideons came up to check the Bibles in the cabins at Three Rivers. Here is a photo of the quartet in action, Craig Phillips, Guy Smith, Bill Rogers and John Swan.
