Homemakers are selling fresh swags

— The Big Cedar Homemakers are now taking orders for their fresh evergreen Christmas Swags. The proceeds from these beautiful swags benefit the Tahoe Quick Response Unit, the Ridge Runner Fire Department and our local 4-H club. You can place your order with Gayle Tucker at 926-4931. Order deadline is Nov. 6. Swags will be delivered on Nov. 23. These are truly beautiful seasonal decorations and your money will help a group that does a tremendous amount of work in our area.

The Friends of the Kooskia Community Library will be hosting a program on the Geology of Idaho, presented by Dr. Bart Stryhas. The program is free to the public and will be in the Kooskia Community Center on Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. Come and learn everything you always wanted to know about Idaho’s unique geology.

The Kamiah Museum will have Dana Lohrey speak on this new book titled “Kooskia Idaho.” Dana is a member of the Elk City Wagon Road Committee and has a wealth of information on this area. You will thoroughly enjoy hearing him speak, and he is well versed in the history of North Central Idaho. Go and enjoy.

Harpster’s 27th annual Christmas fair will be on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the community building, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with all kinds of different products from many vendors, free coffee, and hot lunch available with pies and desserts, and two drawing will be held that day. One is the famous 50-50 drawing, half the cash going to the building upkeep, and half going to one winner. Tickets for the pick-a-prize are $1 each or six for $5. A huge table full of prizes, you select the prize you want when your ticket is drawn.

Looking for a good meal and a great cause. The Kamiah VFW Auxiliary, Post 5407 will hold a Veterans Day chili feed at their post home at 3376 Tamarack in Kamiah, on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Veterans will be provided with a free meal and friends, family and community members are invited to attend. Come and thank those who give so much to keep us safe and free.

If you wish to participate in the Kiwanis Christmas Sharing Tree, request blanks are now available from the Community Action Partnership at 61 4th street in Kamiah.
