KAMIAH Previously postponed from August due to the forest fires, the 39th Annual Chief Lookingglass Celebration is now set for Oct.9-11.
Friday, Oct. 9, will start with the memorials and name givings at 10 a.m. The memorial dinner is set for noon and the grand entry will take place at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10, will include a 7 a.m. breakfast fund-raiser. Also at 7 a.m. is a fun run. The parade will be held at 10 a.m. and the friendship dinner at 11:30 a.m. At 1 p.m. is the afternoon grand entry with the evening grand entry at 7 p.m.
Royalty entries for the week have the chance to win money on the 17 and younger jingle competition. Prizes are $300 for first place, $200 for second and $100 for third. Miss Lookingglass 2014-15 is Alexis Herrera.
Sunday, Oct. 11, will end with the 1 p.m. grand entry and 5 p.m. drawings.
Additional weekend activities include a variety of vendors, drummers and a three-on-three basketball tournament.
All activities (aside from the parade which walks down Main Street) take place at the Wa-A'Yas Community Center and adjoining field area downtown Kamiah.
