Pirates seize district title

Behind Abbey Blum's huge night, formidable Troy took the Prairie girls to five games -- but the Pirates surged at the end to add another trophy to their burgeoning collection. PHS claimed the district title (22-25, 25-23, 25-12, 23-25, 15-9) despite the Troy tower, who booked nearly six kills per game. Krystin Uhlenkott tallied a team high 18 kills (3.6 per game) in the victory. Prairie's next game -- key for its state title defense -- is set for 10 a.m. Oct. 30 at Timberlake High School.
