GCF to award grants Nov. 5

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville Community Foundation will hold its 2015 Appreciation and Grant Award event Thursday, Nov. 5, at The Gallery from 5-6:30 p.m. This year nine grants will be awarded to support projects that benefit Grangeville students, teachers and families. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with the awards presentation 5:30-6:30 p.m. Beverages and hearty appetizers will be served.

Assumption Parish dinner set for Sunday, Nov. 1

FERDINAND — Assumption Parish of Ferdinand will be holding its annual dinner and raffle on Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Ferdinand Parish Hall. A roast beef and turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost for adults is $10, K through 6th grade is $5, and preschool and younger eat free. The raffle drawing will begin at 4 p.m. with more than 30 chances to win. Bingo will be played all day.

St. Catherine’s dinner, bazaar on tap for Sunday, Nov. 8

KAMIAH — The annual Fall Dinner and Bazaar is set for Sunday, Nov. 8, at St. Catherine’s Parish Hall, 7th and Idaho streets, in Kamiah. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for those interested in playing bingo or viewing the items in the silent auction and Country Store.

A turkey dinner that includes dessert and beverage will be served from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are available at the door. Adult tickets are $8, children 8 and younger $4.

The Country Store will feature crafts and homemade treats. In addition to bingo, other activities will include children’s games, face painting and drawing for prizes. Tickets for the prize drawing may be purchased the day of the bazaar or in advance from any parishioner. The prize drawing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on bazaar day.

The silent auction will be conducted during the dinner with bids accepted until 3 p.m. Numerous quality items will be available for auction. This annual fund-raising event is coordinated by St. Catherine’s Altar Society.

Walking Club to meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, possibly Fridays

GRANGEVILLE — The newly forming Camas Prairie Walking Club will continue to meet each Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m., Pioneer Park. Those interested should meet at the covered pavilion. Adding Friday as a walking day is an option the group will consider, depending upon interest.

Bring a friend, dress for the weather, and know dog-walkers, stroller-pushers and people of all ages are welcome to join the group for fun, friendship and fitness. As the group becomes established, walking may be done for a cause, such as raising funds for the hungry and/or homeless.

Handmade wreaths will be ready for Christmas

The Idaho County 4-H CWF (Citizenship Washington Focus) group will be selling Christmas wreaths again this year. Cost is $20 for fresh Christmas wreaths

These will be handmade on Nov. 21 by the CWF Group. To place an order call the Idaho County Extension Office 983-2667.

Christmas in the Pines is in Winchester Nov. 7

WINCHESTER – The annual Christmas in the Pines event at Winchester Community Center is set for Saturday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A variety of vendors will be set up as well as a soup and pie kitchen (provided by the Museum of Winchester History). Entry fee is $1 or free with a can of food for the food bank.

Proceeds will benefit Winchester Days fireworks display and the town playground fund. Call 924-5358 or 791-4454.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for Nov. 4

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, Nov. 4, noon. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 926-7776.

KFD/EMS ‘Big Buck’ breakfast set for Nov. 7

KAMIAH — Kamiah Fire Department / EMS will host its “Big Buck Breakfast” Saturday, Nov. 7, 5–10 a.m. at the Kamiah Fire Station, 6th and Main streets. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage, coffee and juice will be served. Purchase tickets from any EMS personnel or at the door.

A raffle for a Browning Bolt Action III rifle (7MM-08) will be held with tickets at $1 each. Purchase them from EMS members now or at the breakfast; the winner will be drawn at the end of the breakfast.

Kooskia Saddliers annual dinner set for Nov. 7

KOOSKIA — The Kooskia Saddliers Thanksgiving dinner is set for Saturday, Nov. 7, with setup at noon and dinner at 1 p.m., at the Kooskia First Presbyterian Church off Broadway Street.
