Hunting regs to be topic of IDFG meeting

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will host an open house meeting at the Heritage Center in Riggins from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Following a brief presentation, staff will be available to discuss any wildlife or hunting related ideas, issues, and concerns. Beverages will be provided. Contact the McCall Fish and Game office at 634-8137 for details.

Fall chinook season ends soon

The fall chinook season will end Oct. 31 in the Clearwater River, a short stretch of the lower Salmon River and in the Snake River, except the section from Cliff Mountain Rapids upstream to Hells Canyon Dam, which closes Nov. 17. As of Oct. 20, anglers had caught and kept 150 marked adults and 22 jack fall chinook and caught and released 416 unmarked adults in the lower Clearwater River. In the Snake River, anglers kept 427 adults and 131 jacks, and released 2,085 unmarked adults.
