GHS holds serve

— Grangeville won both boys singles matches, both girls singles matches and six doubles matches last Monday, April 18, against the Lewiston JV.

“We played very well despite having every match postponed last week because of weather,” coach Kerry McCulley said. “The Grangeville boys and girls single players played great matches and never looked back once they took the lead.”

Patrick Schumacher, Noah Vandomelen, Rachel Kelley and Sophie Bush won in singles play.

In doubles play, Maicee Conner and Kenzie Kennedy won a tight match 8-6, and three other GHS girls tandems took their matches: Lutz and Gomez, Tosten and Dame, and Rockwell and Frei all won.

In mixed doubles, Lily Willig and Jon Asker took their match, and Kortney Sims and TJ Wiltse took their match.

Up next, Grangeville is slated to play Thursday against CV, Saturday against Moscow and next Tuesday, April 26, against Culdesac.
