The North Central Idaho RAC is soliciting for nominees to fill open positions.
The Secure Rural Schools (SRS) Act authorizes the use of Resource Advisory Committee (RACs) as a mechanism for local community collaboration with federal land managers in recommending Title II projects on federal lands or that will benefit resources on federal lands.
The North Central Idaho RAC represents Idaho, Clearwater and Latah counties and includes the Nez Perce, Clearwater, Payette, Salmon-Challis, St. Joe, Wallowa-Whitman, and Bitterroot national forests.
All but four of the current 15 North Central Idaho RAC members have terms expiring Sept. 30, 2016.
In accordance with the SRS Act, each RAC shall be comprised of 15 members who provide balanced and broad representation from within various specified professional and organizational categories.
In accordance with the SRS Act, members and replacements are appointed to four-year terms or reappointed for an additional two years.
