COTTONWOOD The 24th Annual Raspberry Festival is set for this Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Monastery of St. Gertrude, 465 Keuterville Road in Cottonwood.
The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a 10K Fun Run and 5K Walk and a pancake breakfast, and continues all day starting at 9 a.m. with a kids’ carnival, live music, and an arts and crafts fair. The festival will also feature a car show, art show, and vintage sale as well as museum and chapel tours. In addition, there will be educational exhibits on history, health, and other aspects of the community. Throughout the day visitors are invited to purchase raspberry lemonade, grilled hamburgers and polish sausages, barbecue beef sandwiches and raspberry shortcake.
This year’s Raspberry Festival will feature an art show. The exhibit will be located in the Johanna Room of Spirit Center (big, red building just south of the main Monastery building). There is no entry fee and artists are responsible for any sales of their works. Register at www.MyRaspberryFestival.org.
For the first time, the Raspberry Festival will feature a new, used, and vintage sale that will include rocks, gems, stones, salt and pepper shakers, antique tools, vases, bottles, dolls and toys.
Arts and crafts vendors can still register a booth for the festival. Find information and register at www.MyRaspberryFestival.org. There is also still time to enter the Show ‘n Shine Car, Truck, Bike, and Tractor Show where prizes will be awarded.
All proceeds for the Raspberry Festival benefit the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude.
