RIGGINS The Salmon River Senior Citizens Bingo Night is this Friday, Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m., at the Riggins Community Center. Bingo is open to the general public; you do not have to be a senior citizen to play…just 18 or older. Cash prizes will be awarded. Refreshments are free. There will also be some desserts/baked goods for sale. Bingo donations go to raise funds for the Salmon River Transit Bus, which can even be used by those who are not senior citizens.
A memorial service for Steve Woodley will be held tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 4, at 3 p.m., at Summervilles/Salmon River Inn. Family and friends are invited. There will be a potluck dinner following the service; please bring your favorite.

The second annual Riggins Salmon Run, Saturday, Sept. 10, will be here before we know it. The Riggins Salmon Run which is a family event offering multiple distance runs is a “foot race along the beautiful Salmon River located in Riggins, Idaho” which includes a Fun Run for children of ages 3-6., a half marathon, a 10K, and a 5K. Runners will compete on an in and out course receiving special tokens at the turn-around aid station. The finish line for all runners will be at the Riggins City Park where runners and their families and others can enjoy live music, food, and drinks. Finisher prizes will be awarded for each distance as well as men’s and women’s first prize awards, 5K-$20, 10K- $30, and 13.1 -$40. Register today at www.raceentryawards.
