Stites woman charged in bar burglaries

— A Stites woman has been charged with burglaries at a Grangeville Main Street bar that occurred last month.

Jamie I. Turner, 36, is set for a preliminary hearing this Friday, Aug. 5, on two felony counts of burglary and two misdemeanor counts of petit theft.

Charges resulted from two separate incidents on July 21 and 26 at The Establishment, according to court records. A former bar employee, Turner is alleged to have entered the establishment using a key; on the 21st a bank bag was taken containing $880, and on the 26th the suspect removed the cash register that contained $145.

Turner became a suspect as a result of exterior and interior surveillance videos allegedly showing her in proximity to the business, entering and searching through the facility. The suspect is shown disconnecting the till and leaving the facility with it to a vehicle parked at a nearby business, and another video shows the suspect leaving the bar and removing a ski mask that identifies her face.

Grangeville Police Department investigated the case.
