Another fantastic Elk City Days in on the books now. Rest up a week and start planning for next year! HA! Jackie Mackie did a fantastic job of announcing the Kids Parade.

She made each entrant feel special. Thanks Jackie!

There are several events to report on so I’ll get stared: Jan Pedersen from Hayden won the chicken walk and split the $150 prize money with the sponsor of the event, the Elk City Area Alliance. Terry Beeler won the raffle quilt made by the Sew Help Me Quilters.

The event helps them raise money to make more Quilts of Valor for our veterans. The winners of the American Legion Post 153 Logging Competition are as follows: PeeWee Rolling Pin toss: Payten Chaffee (2 pts); Kids Rolling Pin Toss: Jessica Boyd (3 pts); W o m e n ’ s Rolling Pin Toss: Abby Marybetta (3 pts); Kids Choker Setting: Payton Overall (16.2 sec); Women’s Axe Throw: Aimee Thompson (14 pts); Men’s Axe Throw: Richard Foster (12 pts); Choker Setting: Jake Chaffee (10.2 sec); Jack & Jill Crosscut: Jack and Lacey Chaffee (31.5 sec); 3.5-4.5 Power Saw: Jasper Thompson (19.5 sec); Father & Son Crosscut: Dee & Casey Pitcher (30.45 sec); 4.5-5.5 Power Saw: Jake Chaffee (19.3 sec); Women’s Crosscut: Alissa & Stephanie Stibil (57.2 sec); 5.5 & up Power Saw: Mark Thornton (18 sec); Men’s Crosscut: Riley & Sage Stibil (37 sec); Wood Splitting: Mark Thornton, Riley Stibil, and Sage Stibil (7 min); Winner of the American Legion All Around Trophy: Jake Chaffee.
