Idaho County 4-H club to show, auction weanling

BOISE – Stacy Van Steenwyk of the Lively Livestock 4-H Club will showcase her wild horse training skills at the Western Idaho Fair in Boise beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Her horse also will be available for adoption from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. The showcase is a partnership between the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the University of Idaho 4-H Extension program. Since 2009, more than 250 horses have been adopted and $15,000 has been raised for 4-H clubs in southwestern and eastern Idaho. The horses were gathered following last year’s Soda Fire in the Owyhee Front.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for Sept. 7

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, Sept. 7, noon.

Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church.

No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 926-7776.
