WHITE BIRD Hope everyone made it to the fair, there were a lot of things to eat, view and, of course, all the blood, sweat and tears that our youth put into their projects. Congratulations to all of you, including the leaders.
Smoke is rolling in from the fire at the time zone bridge and they are putting a fire camp in at the rodeo grounds. Please be aware of truck and people traffic, and activities going on out there.
Stopped in for a visit with Pat at the Antique Store. They have now added a museum to the store and Pat is asking for locals to submit old family history for her “family book”. All items are of local history and can be seen as you visit the store. They are open Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment by calling 839-2619. There are some really neat pictures and articles that I will be reading in the future.
Mac’s Bar is once again open on Thursday through Mondays, 11 a.m. to around 8:30 p.m. They are having daily specials, along with prime steak and ribs. Blake would like to get the word out that they are hiring, so if you enjoy cooking or tending bar, are a social person or like to meet new people, stop in and talk to him. He can also be reached at 839-2600.
There will be a cookoff sponsored by the Medical Relief on Saturday, Sept. 24. They are going to be furnishing the ribs and the competition will be in potato salad, macaroni salad and baked beans, all of which can be made at your home and then brought down for judging at noon. They will also raffle a Rugar 30.06 with Vortex scope (can be seen at B & B Bargain in Grangeville) along with an Idaho Resident Sportsman package for 2017. More on this as it gets closer. Call Janice at 839-2478, Millie at 839-9930 or the Silver Dollar Bar in White Bird.
