GRANGEVILLE Syringa Hospital board of trustees has met, made decisions, gone over reports and worked on the hospital’s strategic plan several times in the past few months. Some news from those meetings includes the following:
• At the Nov. 7 special meeting, the board voted to accept National Native American Construction’s bid of $934,900 for phase 2 of the hospital’s construction project.
• At the Nov. 22 meeting, the CNO’s report stated two travel RNs are being utilized due to a shortage in nursing staff.
*Nov. 22: Director of facilities reported Syringa’s new 340B Pharmacy (set to open in January 2017) saw some last-minute changes following a Board of Pharmacy inspection. Those changes have been addressed and plans continue for this in-hospital pharmacy which is meant to address the needs of the uninsured as well as under-insured who require medications.
• Nov. 22: The Syringa Foundation reported the thrift shop contributed 729 volunteer hours in October. Quality Heating was paid $12,750 for the HVAC replacement and $3,885 was paid to HCG for new gutters.
• Nov. 22: The CFO reported cash deposits were $1,064,556 and charges written off to bad debt and sent to collections were $66,813.
