Cottonwood News: Summit Christmas play set for Thursday night, Dec. 15

— Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cottonwood, will be having a Christmas Eve candlelight service Saturday, Dec. 24, 6 p.m., featuring a Christmas Cantata performed by the Whispering Pines Choir. Light refreshments to follow and all are welcome.

Summit Nativity play will be held Dec. 15, 7 p.m. in the Summit Academy gym.

Note a change in Christmas Eve mass time for Greencreek. It will be at 7 p.m., the same time as Ferdinand as Monsignor Andy Schumacher will be coming to help out.

Also make a note that the Sunday mass times will switch for Cottonwood and Greencreek. Starting Jan. 1, mass in Greencreek will be at 8 a.m., and St. Mary’s will have the 10 a.m. mass for all of 2017.

St. Anthony Society Christmas party will be Saturday, Dec. 17, beginning at 5 p.m., with a social hour which will be followed by a tri-tip dinner at 6 p.m.

Santa will make a visit to the Greencreek Hall Dec. 18, following the 10 a.m. mass. The church will be decorated right afterwards at about 11:30 a.m., so anyone who can stay to help is welcome.

Winners from chess tournament at Summit Academy on Saturday were: Cody Wassmuth-1st place, Alli Kohrman-2nd place, Torry Chmelik-3rd place. Congratulations to all the winners!
