COTTONWOOD

•Prairie Junior Senior High School will be host to its school music concert (grades 7-12) tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m., in the gym.

•Summit Academy will be host to its Christmas program, “Christmas Around the World,” Thursday, Dec. 15, 7 p.m.

•40 & 8 Voiture 906 and LeFemmes Cabane 906 will have a Christmas Party for members and community veterans and their families Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Country Haus Restaurant in Cottonwood, noon-1:30 p.m. There will be a no host lunch ordered from the menu, gifts for the kids, door prizes, and free dessert. Those attending are asked to bring adult door prize gifts to share. If you are bringing children, contact Katrina Bentley at 827-2476 so a gift will be ready for your child, and to RSVP.

•Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cottonwood will be having a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Saturday, Dec. 24, 6 p.m., featuring a Christmas cantata performed by the Whispering Pines Choir. Light refreshments to follow and all are welcome.

ELK CITY

•The Elk City School and Reach Club Christmas program will be held Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. It will start with a dinner of meat, potatoes, gravy and rolls provided by Reach Club. The community is asked to bring side dishes or desserts. Following the dinner will be a program of puppets, singing and maybe even Santa will stop by with gifts for all the children.

GRANGEVILLE

•Upcoming Holiday events at Centennial Evangelical Free Church at 408 N. College in Grangeville include the following: On Saturday, Dec. 24, 5 p.m., a Christmas Eve service of candlelight and roses, features a story of Christmas, special music and traditional carols. Just under one hour in length to accommodate family Christmas Eve festivities. Everyone is welcome. On Saturday, Dec. 31, 5 p.m., a New Year’s Eve potluck followed by the popular E-Free Talent show at about 6 p.m. will take place. An evening of food, fun and fellowship, all are welcome.

•On Dec. 15, at 6 p.m., Grangeville Elementary Middle School’s second and third grade students will perform a winter concert in the multipurpose room.

•Sts. Peter and Paul School will host its all-school Christmas program Thursday, Dec. 15, 7:15 p.m., at the school.

•Grangeville Church of the Nazarene, 515 W. N. 2nd Street, will be host to its annual Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 17, 10 a.m. to noon, at the church. Children and their families are invited to come for breakfast, a story and photos with Santa Claus. The following evening, Sunday, Dec. 18, 6 p.m., the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene is having a Family Christmas Celebration and Sing-Along. Everyone is welcome.

•The community is invited to Mt. Shadows Baptist Church, 215 N. C Street, Grangeville, Sunday, Dec. 18, 6 p.m., for a cantata presented by Whispering Pines.

•Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle’s Christmas program will be Sunday, Dec. 18, 6 p.m. The Christmas story and special music will be featured. Pastor Billy Wikoff invites the community to attend.

•Grangeville Christian Church will have a Christmas Eve service Saturday, Dec. 24, 7 p.m. Christmas Day Sunday, Dec. 25, worship service times are 9 a.m. for Sunday School and 10 a.m. for church.

•United Methodist Church annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is set for Saturday, Dec. 24, 7 p.m.

KAMIAH

•The Community Presbyterian Church, 7th and Hill streets, has a variety of holiday events set including the following: A Christmas candy and baked food sale is set for the church Wednesday, Dec. 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the church will host a candlelight Christmas Eve service Saturday, Dec. 24, 6 p.m. No service will be held Sunday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day.

•A “Journey to Bethlehem” program is set for Saturday, Dec. 17, 4- 7 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kamiah, Highway 12. Biblical clothing is encouraged but not essential. Bring a blanket to sit on in “Bethlehem.” (Tables will be available at the “Inn” for those not able to sit on the floor).

•The Emergency Food Outreach group will distribute Christmas food baskets Saturday, Dec. 17, 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to help put baskets together Dec. 15 and 16. Call Janet Cruz at 935-0245. The emergency food program is open Tuesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to noon, for those in need.

KOOSKIA

•Clearwater Valley Elementary School Winter Concert is set for Thursday, Dec. 15, 2 p.m., at the elementary school cafeteria.

•The Old Opera House Theatre on Kooskia’s Main Street will present its Old-Fashioned Christmas Variety Show Thursday, Dec. 22, and Friday, Dec. 23, 7:30 p.m., each night. Local talent will take the stage for a good old-fashioned Christmas evening of music, dance, and homemade desserts ready to purchase. Call Grave’s GreenThumb Nursery at 926-0094 to reserve tickets now as the show is popular and sells out quickly.

STITES

•Stites Baptist Church will host a Christmas cantata at 7 p.m., Dec. 16 at the Stites Baptist Church. Members of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cottonwood will perform. Refreshments will be served following the cantata. For questions call Joetta at 926-4426.

WHITE BIRD

•The Winter Lights Parade will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. Lineup is at 5 p.m. at the top of the hill pullout. Call Carrie Marek at 507-2120 or 839-2500 to join. The parade is followed by the Christmas in the Park celebration. There will be chili in the park sponsored by the White Bird Chamber. Hot dogs will be sponsored by the White Bird Medical & Relief. Santa Goodie Bags will be sponsored by the Rebekah Lodge 13, and smores by the fire is sponsored by the American Legion Post 152. Bring an instrument for the Good Old White Bird Jam.

•Pleasant View Baptist Church in White Bird will hold a “Candlelight and Carols” service Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, 6 p.m. Dec. 25, Christmas, at 10 a.m., a cantata is set entitled “Color It Christmas.” Call 839-2220.
