While following up on a barking dog complaint on Spotted Eagle Lane Dec. 7 in Kooskia, Idaho County deputies Sam AuGello and Craig Hoodman observed several untagged deer and a partial elk hanging in the barn.
The resident, Aaron R. Patton, 20, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, claimed the animals belonged to a tribal member but was unable to provide documentation, according to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game and Tribal Police were called to the residence. The incident was transferred to IDFG, which ultimately charged Patton with six misdemeanor counts of Unlawful Taking of Game Animals.
AuGello cited Patton for Minor Consumption and Public Nuisance for the barking dogs.
