S-R tops Nezperce

The Salmon River girls came into the week unranked in the poll, fourth in the statewide media poll and fifth in the coaches poll — and Nezperce traveled to Riggins last Saturday as the media’s No. 1, the Idaho Sports No. 2 and the coaches’ No. 2.

Having beaten Cascade and Horseshoe Bend earlier in the week, the Savages handed the Indians their first loss of the season, 56-53.

On Friday, Dec. 16, SRHS had beaten Horseshoe Bend 61-43 with Maddy Tucker scoring 28, Chevelle Shepherd scoring 14 and Sarah Laritz scoring 10.

On Dec. 13, Salmon River outscored Cascade 21-4 in the first quarter of a 64-10 rout, during which Tucker totaled 24, Laritz notched 18 and Shepherd tallied 13.

Next, Salmon River (6-2) is set to host Highland of Craigmont on Dec. 21. The Savages played Grangeville Dec. 20 in Riggins.

Logos nicks Summit

MOSCOW — The Summit girls got 11 points from Taylor Lustig, but couldn’t overcome a 21-10 halftime deficit during a 35-32 loss to Logos last Saturday, Dec. 17.

Next, Summit (0-5) is set to host Highland Jan. 10.
