Clearwater Classic: Rams roll again, Zumwalt wins, Prairie shorthanded

— Placing second in the strongest tournament they’ve seen so far this season, the wrestling Rams continued their fast start with no sign of slowing down after the Christmas break.

Clearwater Valley’s Ian Anderson claimed another first-place medal at 160 pounds, pinning Lewiston’s Blake Callahan in three minutes.

In an intrasquad final, CV’s Trae Dominguez pinned Dawson Fisher in 3:48.

CV’s Isaac James placed second at 145, as did Grangeville’s Parker Walters at 195.

Grangeville’s Frankie Zumwalt won the 138-pound rank, edging out Lewiston’s Troy Hanes by an 8-7 decision.

Prairie featured just one wrestler.

Up next, the Central Idaho League is scheduled to square off Jan. 8 in Orofino, followed by the Jan. 9 Maniac Invitational and a Jan. 12 league night in Cottonwood.
