Hand power to others, voice doesn’t count

Letter to the Editor

Those who empower themselves at the expense of others exhibit predatory practices. Our republican ideal is built on the notion of the support of rights of the individual. This form of governance is not pyramidic or episcopal and thus not built on loyalty to a hierarchical structure. Our government charter demands individual responsibility to support individual self-interests whether at the state or personal level. The pursuit of ideal happiness. All pyramidic structures guarantee salvation, security and prosperity and espouse dependency.

Our current public looks for protection and security to outside sources that promise to care and force others to share. The democracy we practice relinquishes individual responsibility and places it in the hands of leaders who make promises. If you hand your power to others, your voice does not count. You hand your fiduciary rights to those who traffic in hope and these egalitarians are scoundrels who drum for your support. Have they delivered? Hopelessness is the aftermath of those banners who parade for hope and change. The more diverse the society, the less freedom we enjoy. Freedom as a concept is personal and not universal. Exercise it.
