Greencreek hosts cereal school on Jan. 26

— Grain industry issues and research will be the focus of the Tuesday, Jan. 26, Prairie Area Extension Cereal School.

Preregister for this informational session, to be held at the Greencreek Community Hall, by Friday, Jan. 15. All ag producers, agri-support personnel and the public are invited to attend.

The agenda will feature topics about cereal production including variety information and weed research. Special topics this year include soil pH survey, canola production, and crop cost and return updates for 2016. Reports will also be presented by the Idaho Wheat Commission and Idaho Barley Commission.

The event begins with registration, coffee and donuts at 8 a.m. with presentations beginning at 8:15. Lunch will be prepared by the Greencreek Altar Society and is sponsored by the Idaho Wheat Commission, Idaho Barley Commission and the University of Idaho. One pesticide recertification credit and CCA credits will be available.

This education program is being provided by U of I Extension in cooperation with Lewis and Idaho County Grain Producers, Idaho barley and wheat commissions, and the Idaho/Lewis Extension Crops Advisory Committee.
