Evelyn S. Greig, 73 of Grangeville, Idaho, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho. She was born March 16, 1943, in Chewelah, Wash., to Howard and Iola Curry Pilant.
She graduated from Grangeville High School. She worked for Foodland Grocers and several other local businesses and was also a bookkeeper.
She met the love of her life, Kenny Greig. They married March 14, 1964. Together they had two sons: Byron and Kevin.
She loved riding horses in her early days and also loved making and selling crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny of 52 wonderful years of marriage; two sons; Byron (Michelle Greig) and Kevin (Cammy) Greig both of Grangeville; two brothers: Gary (Georgia) Pilant and Buck Pilant and a sister; four grandchildren: Lindsay (Ben) Pollan, Nate Greig, Wade (Dana) Greig and Wyatt Greig.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville at 10 a.m. with Stephanie Jordan to officiate. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Following services there will be a small gathering for family and friends at Byron’s shop. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville.
