Grangeville Senior Citizens

July 18: pledge, Stanley Modrell; prayer, Jim Myers; free dinner, Carol Asker; meals at site: 88 with home-delivery 38 hot and 56 frozen. Guests: Jackie Yarborough; Mary Ann Libbey, Idaho Food Bank (Boise); Sharlene and Herman Yates; Martha and Gary Phoenix. Bingo winner: Donna Barnett; blackout winner, Jim Barnett; birthday, Norma Luper.

July 22: pledge, Stanley Modrell; prayer, Barbara Essen; free dinner, Nina Stromberg; meals at site: 87 with home-delivery 36 hot. Guests: Scott Paulsen, Merl Hamilton (Lewiston), Sharon Melin, Diane Badertscher.

Menu: July 29 – sweet and sour meatballs, rice, snap peas, watermelon; Aug. 1 – Mexican chef salad, corn bread, cantaloupe.

Pioneer Senior Citizens

Dolores VonBargen opened the July 19 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and also led the dinner prayer. Guest was Hank DeShiell. There were 57 meals served with 14 home-delivered meals. Gen Broker won the free dinner. Diane Schultz, Eleanor Hinkelman and Chris Remacle each shared a joke with the group.

Eileen Hazelbaker won the nickel bingo pot while Katie Remacle, Dolores Kindall, Amelia Frei and Hilda Nuttman were blackout winners. Door prize winners were Bob Talbott, Mariel Arnzen, Judy Arledge, Doris Sonnen, Marianne Wren and Dolores VonBargen.

The first meal in the new Senior Center will be next Tuesday, Aug. 2, in the basement of the Community Hall.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Cottonwood Community Church basement. Meals are served at noon.

Menu for Aug. 2: Mexican Chef Salad, Mixed Fruit Salad, Mincemeat Cookie.
