GHS, Stefani are in running for music educator award

— A total of 290 music teachers from 264 cities across 41 states have been announced as quarterfinalists for the Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation. In total, more than 3,300 initial nominations were submitted form all 50 states. Nominations for the 2018 Music Educator Award are now open at

The Music Educator Award was established to recognize current educators (kindergarten through college, public and private schools) who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. A joint partnership and presentation of The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation, the recipient will be honored during GRAMMY Week 2017.

Quarterfinalists include Kathy Stefani, Grangeville High School. The semifinalists will be announced in September. Stefani recently accepted a teaching job in Moscow.
