— Speed was a factor in a Monday morning crash, June 27, that resulted in an overturned log truck partially blocking State Highway 13.

The crash was reported at 9:40 a.m., according to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) report. Jason A. Crawford, 48, of Stites, was driving a 2016 Peterbilt tractor and trailer southbound when he entered a left curve at speed too fast for conditions. The vehicle overturned onto its right side and destroyed approximately 210 feet of guardrail.

Crawford was wearing a seat belt and was not transported for medical treatment. He was not cited. The southbound lane was partially blocked for several hours.

ICSO Undersheriff Jim Gorges investigated the crash and was assisted on scene by the Kooskia Volunteer Fire Department. Miles Towing provided wrecker services.
