Elections: March 8 results

— Idaho County voters showed a marked preference for Donald Trump in Tuesday night’s March 8 Republican party presidential primary election.

Trump received a total 1,668 votes.

Breakdown for the other candidates is as follows (BOLD denotes candidates still running): Jeb Bush (38), Ben Carson (134), Chris Christie (7), Ted Cruz (1,495), Carly Fiorina (3), Lindsey Graham (2), Mike Huckabee (21), John R. Kasich (266), Peter Messina (2), Rand Paul (29), Marco Rubio (371), Rick Santorum (6) and Donald J. Trump (1,668).

In the Constitutional Party presidential primary, Idaho County vote breakdown is as follows: Scott Copeland 4, J.R. Myers 3 and Patrick Anthony Ockander 2.

Votes are unofficial until canvassed by the Idaho County Commission at its regular meeting.

For Democrats, the party will hold a caucus on Tuesday, March 22, starting at 5 p.m. at Grangeville High School. Prior to this, a practice Democratic Presidential Caucus will be held at the Idaho County party’s regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 14, 6:30 p.m., Grangeville Senior Center.
